Huntsmore project managed the design and build of this full renovation project in a red brick mansion block in Victoria.
The property was a very large lateral apartment in a purpose-built Art Nouveau red brick mansion block, totally approximately 2800 Sq Ft.
Ahead of starting construction works, a License to Alter agreement from the building’s Management Company was required. Huntsmore compiled a detailed design pack for the Management Company, outlining all the proposed changes, including the new kitchen layout and converting an old utility room into a shower room.
The building works included and extensive bespoke joinery package, including hand-made kitchen. who created this large fully bespoke shaker kitchen. The original kitchen space was badly configured, with a slim doorway leading through to the hallway on the other side. It was decided that it would better to close this section off to get more cabinetry and storage space. The original entrance doorway was also altered so that the large pantry unit to the right-hand-side could be fitted. The pantry drawers were made specifically to incorporate the client’s existing crockery. This meant we had to reduce the doorway width and installed sliding pocket door system. Everything in the kitchen was fully bespoke, designed to the client’s exacting requirements. The cabinets were made of oak with the doors and frames made in poplar wood. The kitchen was finished in Little Greene’s ‘Lead’. Further bespoke joinery features in the three bedrooms and an impressive low-level bookshelf was incorporated into the property’s long hallway.
